Prior to becoming a Professor of Entrepreneurship at Concordia University, David spent 20 years as an executive in Silicon Valley where he worked at both public and private companies, start-ups, medium-sized businesses, and Fortune 100 corporations. He has helped take private companies public and built successful organizations within a number of tech giants. He joined VMware when it was just 300 employees and helped grow it to over 8,000 employees and a market cap of $15 billion. He has done the same at F5 Networks, Sun Microsystems, and most recently at Newgistics where he was the Vice President of Global Sales Operations. Although he passed on the opportunity, David was also offered the position to head Google’s Training & Enablement Organization. While his focus has been primarily around sales force effectiveness (driving incremental revenue and increased productivity), David has been accountable for many of the core strategic disciplines throughout his career including business planning, reporting and analytics, process optimization, budgeting, education, forecasting, and strategy. David has an MBA from Cornell University and a BSB from the University of Minnesota.
