Getting your product used is one of the hardest things to achieve, and it is key to having a successful business. For 10 years at Samsung, I focused on bringing new-to-the-world technologies to market at the hugest of scales. Sometimes things went great, sometimes they didn’t, but I learned many lessons. A simple one is that a Samsung-sized budget doesn’t guarantee success, but knowing your customers, your channels, and your economics really helps. I’ve launched hardware, apps, and web services. To be more specific, I was part of the team that launched the first Galaxy smartphone in 2010, and numerous accompanying applications and services.
In 2014, I launched the first (modern) consumer virtual reality in the USA, the Gear VR powered by Oculus, put in 5000 doors of retail with demo software, took over the Sundance Film Festival, created the single most popular app on the Gear VR app store, Samsung VR 360 degree video service. I’ve growth hacked with a $50 Adwords budget and put VR on roller coasters with Six Flags.
I love talking about products with entrepreneurs and I’m glad to help however I can.
