Tom’s focus is helping technology-based startups connect the dots to find their winning digital strategy in marketing and sales. In every position or startup, Tom’s role has been to usher and mentor others to evolve their perspectives on a professional and personal level to deal with the rapid adoption of new technologies. It’s called personal leadership.
Tom started with an AI spinoff from MIT, Symbolics, in the 1980’s then moved to MCC as a marketing advisor for research in the neural network and human interface group. Tom is passionate about this new phase of digital transformation with AI and blockchain-based tools and is already advising companies in this area for success.
Tom was part of a team at Motorola Semiconductor that integrated the Internet throughout the enterprise. He learned many lessons in moving people’s mind and hearts to new ways of thinking given the disruption in jobs and industries. Tom’s role at BMC software was to lead the company to a social media strategy and then host over 800 podcasts with millions of downloads.
Tom most recent engagement was VP of Marketing at Concepture.com to bring the Bildr no-code software development environment to market. In this position, he called upon his many skills: networking, cloud computing, telecommunications, enterprise software, mobile technology, customer relationship management, social media, and multi-media production.
After a robust technology career, the discussion nearest his heart is addressing how best to educate young people on the skill of adaptability in the workplace through mentoring, authoring articles and public speaking.
Tom is a percussionist since the age of 5 (dad taught him), a budding accordion player lover of movies and an FCC licensed radio operator – KB5RF – Licensed Extra Class fascinated with building relationship globally. Most importantly, a family man with five grown children and seven grandchildren and a beautiful wife Donna Lipman.
