Introducing: Privacy by Design
First proposed in Canada, the concept of Privacy by Design was set into law for the first time with the European Data Protection Regulation. Organizations should expect the trend to spread to other jurisdictions as well, perhaps even the United States.
Regardless, you now hear all manner of consultants and regulators endorsing and embracing the idea as something vital to doing business in the Digital Age. But what does it really mean to build “privacy by design” into one’s organization? How does startup culture, which has long embraced ideas like “go fast and break stuff,” make sure that privacy principles and concern for the handling of personal data are considered at the white board stage and as decisions are made along the way?
In this discussion, you’ll hear from privacy leads at major organizations as they discuss how they’ve implemented, and continue to implement, in their product and service development processes.
