…a minimal immutable OS for running Kubernetes. LinuxKit is a toolkit for building minimal Linux operating systems that Docker released as open source earlier this year. It is built with CNCF projects, including containerd, and with standard Kubernetes components such as kubeadm.
What people want to build on minimal operating systems is of course Kubernetes and we and the community have been working on this. In this talk we look at how LinuxKit works, how to build Kubernetes with it. We also will give a preview of the Docker Desktop Kubernetes integration that is built using LinuxKit.
