THE CENTER OF GRAVITY FOR ENTREPRENEURS IN TEXAS
What is Service Design?
Never ask a group of service designers to define service design. After a few hours of the same (but different) anecdotal definitions, you’ll leave feeling more confused than before you asked.
This is why for our next meeting, we’re gonna do just that: attempt to define service design. But, in order to avoid the aforementioned dilemma, we’ll be using a few guided exercises to help us come to our own, collaborative definition.
If you missed last week, keep an eye out for a rundown post. We will be getting discussion boards up & running later this week as well!
Agenda:
-We will begin by each communicating what we think service design is. Draw it, write it down, make a diagram! We’ll spend some time reflectively viewing these artifacts.
-We will then use prompts to generate different definitions of service design from various viewpoints (marketing, customer experience, business strategy.) We’ll end up with a TON of stickies on the wall.
-Once we’ve hit a satisfying smattering of ideas & definitions, we’ll begin it affinitize them into related themes.
-Finally, using these themes, we will craft our own definition(s) as a group, uncovering Service Design, ATX’s own explanation of service design.
