This is a group devoted to Ruby and Rails. We also talk about sinatra, deep dives into the workings of Ruby, and other things we find interesting as Rubyists.
This group is for people interested in Crate Digging (vinyl record shopping) and sample-based beatmaking. We will discuss spots for digging, recent finds, trading records, and also converting that delicious vinyl into beats! (Akai Ableton, Reason, Akai MPCs, SP-404, Maschine, Logic or whatever you use)
The group is open to any and everyone that wants to hang, record shop, discuss beats, etc.
EFF-Austin advocates establishment and protection of digital rights and defense of the wealth of digital information, innovation, and technology. We promote the right of all citizens to communicate and share information without unreasonable constraint. We also advocate the fundamental right to explore, tinker, create, and innovate along the frontier of emerging technologies.
Pitch Slam is Naturally Austin’s annual celebrating the best of Austin’s natural and consumer products industry! Austin is proud to be at the forefront of the most exciting and innovative brands that break genres and disrupt categories.
Welcome creative artists of all disciplines! AICC is a group of people who are using artificial intelligence to assist them in their creation of visual art. Our focus areas are: film and video, design, digital art, storyboarding, comics and other new media.
Once every-other month, members will meet to show off their latest work, discuss process and workflow, learn about new software and techniques, network and have fun. Our goal is to spread knowledge and learn from each other in this ever-expanding new frontier of AI-assisted art and entertainment, while also connecting members to one another in order to help, teach and learn.
Each session we will focus on a select small numbers of creators and their projects in an effort to get helpful feedback, discuss our process, and learn from one another. In a city like Austin, where tech meets entertainment in so many cool ways, we are creating a space for new work to be seen and new techniques to be discussed.
Join us for several talks and discussions on Web3 Technologies including IPFS & Filecoin! Talks will be in English. This is our first time in this room but we’ll do our best to have a livestream. If you have a talk you’d like to give please reach out!
Join the Capital Factory community and meet members, mentors, and staff for a showcase of the companies in our tech ecosystem!
Hear highlights from companies in the Capital Factory ecosystem and enjoy networking and drinks with fellow attendees and CF employees. During programming, portfolio and member companies will give a short pitch about their business and products.
This is an in-person event at Capital Factory located in Voltron!

Welcome to the group for doing practical data science in Austin, Texas. We focus on analyzing interesting, novel and real datasets in a collaborative environment. If you have ever wanted to experience the problems that other data scientists are tackling, get exposed to a wide variety of methods (classical/frequentist, Bayesian, ML, etc.) that you aren’t (yet) using, and share your expertise in a collaborative environment – this is the group for you.
The point of the group is to learn, but this is definitely not (yet another) data science bootcamp – arrive expecting to share your expertise & collaborate on an analysis, not get taught at.
A strict no sales pitch rule will be enforced.
Familiarity with Jupyter and python, R or spark is required.
Are you in an early seed stage with a technical solution?
Are you looking for ways to articulate your idea in an elevator pitch format?
Learn to craft a compelling pitch for your startup in a friendly, risk-free environment. 🎤✨ We’ll start the workshop with a presentation from the pitch coach and CF Mentor Wen Zhang.
