The global crisis of COVID-19 is already having a significant impact on early-stage companies in the state of Texas.

Speakers
Mike Dodd, Silverton Partners
Mike has been an active technology investor as well as an executive at a number of leading technology companies for the past 20 years. As an investor, prior to joining Silverton, Mike was a partner at Austin Ventures where he focused on technology investing in enterprise and consumer applications, and prior was a partner at Europeatweb, a European/US venture capital firm. Notable investments included MapMyFitness (acquired by Under Armour), Mass Relevance (acquired by Spredfast), Ancestry.com, Liqudity Services Inc. (Nasdaq: LQDT) and Spredfast (acquired by Lithium). As an executive, Mike was SVP of Corporate Development at Omniture (acquired by Adobe) and SVP and GM at Ancestry.com. In his early career, Mike was a technology investment banker with Robertson Stephens in San Francisco.
Gordon Daugherty, Capital Factory
Gordon Daugherty is a best-selling author, seasoned business executive, entrepreneur, startup advisor and investor. He has made more than 200 investments in early-stage companies and has been involved with raising more than $80 million in growth and venture capital. From his 28-year career in high tech, Gordon has both an IPO and a $200-million acquisition exit under his belt. Now, as co-founder and president of Austin’s Capital Factory and as author of the book “Startup Success”, Gordon spends 100 percent of his time educating, advising, and investing in startups.
Evan Kastner, Kastner/Gravelle
Evan Kastner focuses on corporate and securities law matters, representing entrepreneurs, emerging growth and public companies, and venture capital firms and private investors. Evan advises clients in a wide variety of start-up matters, venture capital financings, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, debt financing transactions and corporate governance matters, and has assisted numerous public companies with public offering and SEC compliance and reporting obligations. Prior to co-founding Kastner Gravelle LLP, Evan was a corporate attorney in the Austin, Texas office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P. C. and the Broomfield, Colorado office of Cooley LLP. Prior to attending law school, Evan was a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised clients in the technology and manufacturing industries.
Kelsi Kamin, Silverton Partners
At Silverton, Kelsi works on the investment team sourcing new investments, supporting due diligence and investment operations, and oversees the firm’s business development activities. Prior to joining Silverton, Kelsi was a Venture Associate at Capital Factory, where she worked to build their Accelerator and Fund portfolios, and helped lead their expansion into Dallas/Fort Worth. Previously, Kelsi worked at Crunchbase, writing the company’s daily newsletter on global VC deals & startup trends.
